About Us

What are we up to with the And Now for the Good News book, newsletter, and Web site? Our goal is to . . .

Provide a refreshing antidote to all the bad news by reporting positive, solutions-oriented news and trends.

Promote a general awareness of the amount of negative news we consume and how it’s affecting us individually and collectively.

Build a Good News community that’s fun, informative, and reality changing—when we spread good news, we change the world.

Help create a generation of young optimists by sharing good news with our kids.

And who knows, in the process we may wind up proving to the mainstream news media not only that good news is news, but that we, the public, are eager to hear it. Now THAT would change the world.

Sue Ray, Pam Laskey, and a brief history of how And Now for the Good News came to be

We met around 15 years and as many hairstyles ago, in an English department on a campus in Massachusetts while working as sales reps for competing college textbook companies. We’ve been friends ever since. Pam went on to become an executive in marketing with several major college textbook publishers, while Sue went on to create (with her brother and business partner, Rand Ray) Moment Point Press.

After years of plotting to lure Pam away from her real job and bring her fine marketing maven self over to Moment Point, Sue started writing And Now for the Good News and knew the time had come. Sure enough, over a sushi dinner in 2007, Pam was on board, the ideas were flying, and quicker than you can say “Another sake, please,” AndNowForTheGoodNews.com was as good as launched.

Since then, we’ve been having more fun at work than should be allowed. Good news is infectious. It changes your outlook and makes you a better informed, more optimistic and productive person. We hope you’ll see for yourself by making And Now for the Good News a part of your day.

Let’s spread the word. Something good is bound to happen.
